Royal fans haven’t seen much of Prince Harry (39) and Duchess Meghan’s (42) son Prince Archie (5) since his birth in 2019. A few months after he was born in London, King Charles’ grandson (75) moved to the USA with his parents at the beginning of 2020. There could soon be a big milestone for Archie.

On May 6th he will celebrate his fifth birthday with his family, which includes his two-year-old sister Lilibet. Since Archie is now five years old, he will probably start school soon. Most children in the United States start studying at the age of five or six.

It is not known which educational institution his parents will choose for Archie. Royal expert Richard Mineards apparently knows the wide range of first-class schools near the Sussexes. The family lives in Montecito, California. He told Hello! magazine that there was “one very good school in particular, Cold Spring School, which has received very good reviews and is in their catchment area.” Archie could then attend the Montecito Union School, which is very good and where “the children of the rich and famous” go. According to “Marie Claire”, royal expert Tom Quinn is also sure that Archie – like his two parents – will attend a school where there are other “celebrity children”.

Will the public find out about this? The lives of Archie and his sister Lilibet take place away from the public eye. Their parents have said goodbye to their royal duties and to Great Britain. Meghan and Harry rarely give insights into their children’s lives.

A few things are known about Archie: Harry once described his older child as “talkative.” At the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games 2022, he also revealed that Archie is already thinking about what career he wants to pursue when he grows up. “When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, sometimes it’s an astronaut, sometimes it’s a pilot – a helicopter pilot, of course – or Kwasi from the Octonauts,” he said. “If you laugh, then you’ve seen this,” he added of the children’s show.

Archie is also known for having a lot of energy. He liked to run around “like crazy,” his father said on another occasion. In 2022, Prince Harry revealed to “Today” presenter Hoda Kotb (59) that his son loves interrupting Zoom calls. “Archie spends more time interrupting our Zoom calls than anyone else.” In the past few months he may have been looking for a new leisure activity: the young royal is said to have received a bicycle for his fourth birthday a year ago.

Since Archie was a great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) at the time of his birth, he was initially not given a royal title. He and his younger sister only became eligible after their grandfather, King Charles, ascended to the throne in 2022. In March 2023, the palace updated the official royal family website to reveal the titles of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

In February 2024, Archie and Lilibet’s names were changed again after their parents adopted Sussex as their family name. Archie’s official name is now Prince Archie of Sussex.

Meanwhile, Archie probably hasn’t seen his royal relatives for a while. The Sussexes last visited the United Kingdom with their two children in June 2022 on the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. Harry and Meghan also attended the Queen’s state funeral in September 2022.

Prince Harry then attended a few appointments in England alone. He also appeared alone at his father Charles’ coronation on May 6, 2023 and quickly traveled home. Archie finally celebrated his birthday…
