Even the most optimistic fan no longer seriously believes in a comeback by the British cult band Oasis. On the one hand, because the dispute between the Gallagher brothers Noel (56) and Liam (51) has been dragging on for a good 15 years. On the other hand, because the alleged reunion intentions that were announced several times in the past repeatedly came to nothing. Nevertheless, Liam Gallagher now assures “The Times” that all it takes is a tiny gesture from his big brother and he would say to himself: “Don’t look back in anger.”
So he is “without a doubt” convinced that they can celebrate a successful return as Oasis. All Noel has to do is send him a “box of chocolates” – i.e. an apology – and they can work together again. His argument here: His brother broke up the band at the time, so he also had to take the first step towards their comeback.
Liam Gallagher also spoke of the fact that “things have changed in his brother’s private life”. He didn’t say specifically what he meant by that. But it was only in November last year that it was announced that Noel Gallagher and his ex-wife Sara MacDonald were finally able to finalize their divorce. However, this agreement was not cheap for the musician; “The Sun” and other British media reported that he had to pay her over 20 million pounds (around 22.8 million euros).
But Noel Gallagher also recently spoke out about an Oasis reunion. And lo and behold, he also expressed his willingness to give the band another chance. The only problem: “Liam hasn’t called yet,” as he also told “The Times.” It sounds as if each of the two of them was waiting vehemently for the “box of chocolates” – and then came away empty-handed. Not to mention the fans.
