After this year’s dance couples met in the “big get-to-know-you show” last week, the real competition moved on this Friday evening on “Let’s Dance” (live from 8:15 p.m. on RTL or on RTL). The first possible favorites emerged at the start – but it has already been decided for a duo.
Fast, faster, quickstep was the order of the day for Lina Larissa Strahl (26) and Zsolt Sándor Cseke (36). “That looked like fun and joy of life,” enthused presenter Daniel Hartwig (45) after the performance. The jury also saw it that way: 14 points were awarded for Strahl’s first solo dance.
Things stayed quick for the time being: Jana Wosnitza (30) and Vadim Garbuzov (36) had a jive next. During training, the sports journalist explained that she had to get rid of her aversion to high heels. She hasn’t managed that this time. “We will have stress with our feet,” feared Mabuse. The jury gave it 12 points.
A self-doubt-plagued Detlef “D!” Soost (53) performed an emotional slow waltz on the dance floor with Ekaterina Leonova (36). “You have the gift of creating an atmosphere that this dance portrayed wonderfully,” enthused Joachim Llambi (59). The jury was convinced that there would be a lot of fun with Detlef and “Ekat” in the future and possibly even more than 18 points.
Influencer Ann-Kathrin Bendixen (24) had tears during the first training session – which could possibly have been due to the jive, one of the fastest dances on “Let’s Dance”. But what could go wrong with last year’s winner Valentin Lusin (36)? A lot, as the jury found. There were only seven points for Bendixen’s Jive – the worst rating of the evening.
Power professional Kathrin Menzinger’s (35) challenge of the week: teaching Mark Keller (58) the cha-cha-cha steps. Not an easy task, as training showed: “I get confused with these stupid feet.” Keller’s Cha Cha Cha was rated 13 points.
The slow waltz is the dance that model Eva Padberg (44) is most afraid of. And she had to perform that first with Paul Lorenz (36). Mabuse would like to see more excitement from Padberg in the future. Eleven points were awarded for the model’s fear dance.
“When we both dance, it looks like ‘Let’s Dance Kids’,” joked comedian Tony Bauer (28) about his small body size and that of his dance partner Anastasia Stan (26) before the start of training. He also assured that he could do anything on “Let’s Dance” despite his short bowel syndrome. “That was a big mistake,” he realized after being assigned the Cha Cha Cha. However, the comedian mastered it with flying colors. “Your hip baby – very well done,” gushed González. 16 points were awarded to the Cha Cha Cha.
Sore muscles and stiff legs plagued “The Lions’ Den” investor Tillman Schulz (34) in week one, in which he had to perform a passionate tango with Lithuanian Patricija Ionel (28). There were only seven points for the lion.
“I see potential, so don’t disappoint me,” Marta Arndt (34) appealed to motivation coach Biyon Kattilathu (39) during training. The two danced a lively jive that was well received by the jury. “It was rhythmic, I really liked that,” said Jorge González. For him it was the best jive of the evening, for which he received 17 points.
Sophia Thiel (28) demonstrated strength in the truest sense of the word while cha cha cha with Alexandru Ionel (29) to the song “Stronger”. Nevertheless, Motsi Mabuse noted: “You have to do a little research, what else is going on in your body.” The expert jury’s verdict: eleven points.
“Once you concentrate, I’m very excited,” praised professional newcomer Mikael “Mika” Tatarkin (27) comedienne Maria Clara Groppler (24) during dance training. The two also completed a Cha Cha Cha on Friday evening, for which they only received 10 points.
“No more calm – passion!” demanded Mariia Maksina (27) from food blogger Stefano Zarrella (33) during tango training. The jury awarded a total of 18 points for his performance. From Mabuse’s point of view, Zarrella “improved the most” in week one.
As the favorite of the “getting to know you show,” expectations of Lulu Lewe (32) were high. Her tango with Massimo Sinató (43) was able to fulfill this again. The jury saw a lot of potential in Sarah Connor’s sister (43). “You were the strongest woman here tonight,” said Llambi. 19 points were awarded to Tango.
Gabriel Kelly (22) and Malika Dzumaev (32) brought up the rear. As the owner of the direct ticket from the “getting to know show”, Angelo Kelly’s son (42) was able to enter the dance floor in the most relaxed way. But the 22-year-old performed a rhythmic quickstep that earned him the best rating of the evening with 21 points. Mabuse jumped up from her jury chair: “That’s how it works, people!”
Then it was time for the first exciting decision of the current season. In the end, Maria and Mika as well as Tillman and Patricija had to tremble. It wasn’t enough for Maria Clara Groppler and Mika Tatarkin – they were the first couple to be eliminated.
Next week it will continue on Friday evening (March 8th at 8:15 p.m. live on RTL) under the motto “90s”.
