US actor Jason Segel (43) is open to returning as Marshall Eriksen in “How I Met Your Father” (since 2022), the spin-off of his hit series “How I Met Your Mother” (2005-2014). In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said he would “do anything” for the creators of the Hulu sequel, including reprising his role from the original CBS series. “These people changed my life and I would do anything they ask of me,” he told ET when asked if he would consider a role in the reboot series.

Segel played the lovable role on the series HIMYM, in which Ted (Josh Radnor) tells his children their protracted love story with their mother while growing up in New York City with his four best friends, including Marshall.

Nearly eight years after the ninth season of the popular CBS comedy ended in 2014, Hulu greenlit the spin-off series How I Met Your Father, which reverses the plot of the original series. A woman named Sophie – played by Hilary Duff (35) in the present and Kim Cattrall (66) in the future – tells her son how she met his father.

Should Segel make a surprise appearance in the spin-off, he’d be in good company, as several “HIMYM” colleagues have already made the leap, most notably Cobie Smulders (40), who reprises her role as Robin Scherbatsky in the season one finale of ” How I Met Your Father”.
