A few weeks ago, Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. Very few people thought that the marriage would last this long when the first photos of the supermodel and the musician together appeared in 2018. The age difference between the two was and is always a public issue. In an interview with the German edition of the magazine “Glamour,” Klum commented on this again.

“Time will not stand still for me, and Tom will never catch up with me. I will always be 16 years older, and I know that. I know that I will look older faster than him. Maybe it will be in ten years “It’s a problem for me, maybe he won’t like it. In 20 years I’ll be 70. Normally I plan the future. I live in the here and now with my husband,” she says.

The 50-year-old explains why she has to listen to malicious comments about her relationship so often: “I think it’s often just spite. Maybe many people think that I’ve been too lucky in life. I have a great job “I’m allowed to travel around the world and buy expensive things. Now I’ve got myself such a great husband. Maybe people won’t begrudge me that.”

Klum speaks of age shaming – especially in social networks. “People also gossip about the fact that I still dress sexy at 50. That’s neither nice nor pleasant. Yes, I’m 50, but I’m far from dead.” The malice is one reason why she deactivated the comment function on her Instagram account. “I don’t want this hatred,” she says.

She also gets in a bad mood when there are certain headlines about her children. “When I notice that people are complaining about the fact that I have children with different men. There are so many people who have had failed marriages. Of course it’s not nice, but that’s just how my life has been.”

Heidi Klum grew up in Bergisch Gladbach and won the TV competition “Model 92” at the age of 18. She doesn’t only have positive memories of her beginnings in the fashion industry. “No one wanted me in Paris and Milan. I was too happy for them, never super thin. I was even labeled as too fat. It was the time of heroin chic. I didn’t fit in.” Klum’s breakthrough came in the USA. Looking back, she is glad that everything turned out the way it did.

Only the relationship with its discoverer, Thomas Gottschalk, is now considered to be cold. The 73-year-old also made fun of the age difference between Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz in his podcast “Die Supernasen” and referred to them as the twins’ “guardians”. When it comes to this topic, as she has made clear in several interviews, Heidi Klum doesn’t take a joke.
