It was one of the surprises at the Golden Globes awards ceremony: the stars of the legal series “Suits” were reunited for a reunion and presented one of the evening’s trophies together. Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams appeared together in front of the camera for the show for many years, and the final season aired in 2019. But one main actress was missing from the reunion: Duchess Meghan.

Prince Harry’s wife played the role of Rachel Zane on “Suits” for seven years and gave up acting for a life at the British court. After she and Harry left the royal family in 2020, the 42-year-old repeatedly signaled that a return to Hollywood was not out of the question. She has since felt her way back into show business with her own podcast and projects for Netflix. All the more surprising that she apparently canceled the invitation to the Golden Globes.

“We asked the Duchess but were told that unfortunately she already had other commitments,” a Globes insider revealed. It is not known what exactly the other obligation might have been. In any case, her former colleagues no longer seem to have any contact with her. “We don’t even have her number,” Gina Torres said on the red carpet when a reporter asked her if Meghan was still part of the series’ stars’ group chat.

But even without her presence, she and Harry were the talk of the Globes. Moderator Jo Koy joked about the couple: “They get millions of dollars for doing nothing – and only from Netflix.” In addition, actress Imelda Staunton was so good as the Queen in the series “The Crown” that Harry called her and asked for money. Ouch. Maybe Harry and Meghan just didn’t feel like having jokes at their expense.
