Late sequel to “Full on the Nuts”. According to Deadline, a sequel to the 2004 dodgeball comedy is in the works. Like 20 years ago, Vince Vaughn (53) will play the main role. The actor is also set to serve as a producer. More details are not yet known as the project is still at an early stage.

“Full to the Nuts” was a surprise hit in 2004. The sports comedy grossed $167 million at a production cost of $20 million.

Almost twenty years ago, Vince Vaughan played Peter La Fleur, the owner of a small gym. When he can no longer pay the rent, his cocky competitor White Goodman (Ben Stiller, 57) wants to take over his shop.

Peter needs to raise $50,000 in a short amount of time. So he enrolls himself and a couple of his studio’s loser clients in a dodgeball tournament. The dodgeball variation competition in Las Vegas has exactly the same amount up for grabs. To prevent Peter from winning the money, White Goodman registers a team himself – peppered with dodgeball stars.

“Dodgeball” (original title) also became a cult film thanks to numerous guest stars. Among others, William Shatner (92), Chuck Norris (83) as himself and David Hasselhoff (70) as coach of the German team looked past.

A sequel to the surprise hit was already being planned ten years ago. 20th Century Fox revealed a corresponding plan in 2013. Vince Vaughan and Ben Stiller should return in their roles. But as is well known, nothing came of it. Stiller last denied rumors of a sequel in 2016.
