Corden got superstars to join in his antics – and provided his audience with a great deal of entertainment. Now he is leaving the talk show as moderator, and the “Late Late Show” may be canceled altogether. In 2015 he took over the role from comedian Craig Ferguson and quickly celebrated success. The talk show was the breakthrough for Corden in the United States, who had previously appeared in his home country with smaller appearances and roles.
He counts Adele and Harry Styles among his friends, but he also gets along well with Hollywood greats like Sean Penn and Emily Blunt. It seemed like Corden couldn’t go wrong with his sly British humor and endearing manner. But then came last year. Suddenly he found himself at the center of several scandals.

During one visit, Corden complained about a hair in the food and snapped at the restaurant manager to bring another round of drinks. “And take care of all our previous drinks too. That way I don’t write nasty reviews on Yelp or anything like that,” Corden reportedly said. On another visit, Corden was accompanied by his wife, who ordered an egg yolk omelette. When there was a little egg white in the omelet, the Brit complained. “The kitchen remade the dish but unfortunately delivered it with fries instead of salad. That’s when James Corden started yelling at the waiter like crazy, ‘You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go to the kitchen and make the omelet yourself!'” the restaurant log said.
The nice Corden actually a diva? It didn’t take long for the moderator to apologize. “In the heat of the moment, I made a sarcastic comment about cooking it myself.” He deeply regrets this remark. “I understand the difficulties that you have as a waiter. I worked shifts in restaurants for years,” he said ruefully on his talk show, adding that he had “a lot of respect and appreciation for everyone who does a job like that”.
But that was not the end of the omelet drama. Recently, Craig Duncan, a producer Corden has worked with, quibbled about the Brit. “The most difficult and obnoxious presenter I’ve ever worked with is James Corden,” he said in a video available on YouTube. However, he later gave in, calling his story a “harmless anecdote” that should not be given too much importance.
