Fans of the series “Emily in Paris” will have to wait until the fourth season is available on the streaming service Netflix. As the industry portal “Variety” reports, filming of the new episodes is not expected to start until January 2024 in Paris. After filming was postponed due to the Hollywood strikes, a new time obstacle awaits in the new year…

Because of the Olympic Games, all filming in Paris is prohibited from June to September 2024. The 2024 Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place in the French capital from July 26 to August 11, 2024. Access to some areas around the Place de la Condorde and the Palais du Trocadéro will be restricted from March. Filming for the fourth season of “Emily in Paris” was originally scheduled to begin this summer at the Cité du Cinema Studios, where the first three seasons were also filmed.

But the film studios are also booked from mid-November as part of the Olympic Games and therefore cannot be used for filming the Netflix hit. According to “Variety”, the story about the American Emily (Lily Collins, 34), who emigrates to Paris and leads a turbulent work and love life there, will be filmed in the nearby Studios de la Montjoie in the new year. As usual, the exterior shots take place on location in the streets of Paris.

The rush to famous locations in Paris for filming is said to be unusually high in the first three months of 2024. “Most places are already at capacity,” Variety quoted a production producer as saying. But there is pressure not only in organizing the filming locations; the scripts for the new “Emily in Paris” season are also said to still not have been completed due to the strike.
