A few days before the coronation, the British royal family has released new photos of King Charles III. (74) and his wife Camilla (75). Taking to social media, the royals said of a portrait of the couple: “One week to go! As Their Majesties’ coronation draws near, a new picture of the King and Queen Consort has been shared in the Blue Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace. Taken by Hugo Burnand .” It’s not Burnand’s first time working for the royal family. He has also photographed the weddings of Charles and Camilla in 2005 and Prince William, 40, and Princess Kate, 41, in 2011.

Two other photos that the palace published, according to British media reports, show Charles and Camilla individually. The king is seated in a chair with gilded wood and light blue silk upholstery from 1829. Camilla sat in a similar chair for her photo, the upholstered chair is said to date from 1812.

The coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla will take place at London’s Westminster Abbey on May 6th. About 2,000 guests are invited. The coronation weekend also includes a big concert at Windsor Castle as well as numerous street festivals and other events. The British also get a public holiday.
