The next presidential election in the USA is scheduled for November 2024. Former US President Donald Trump (77) has already announced that he wants to run for office in the White House again. This is causing singer Cher (77) great concern, as she revealed in a recent interview with the Guardian. In the conversation, she repeatedly criticized Trump and announced that she would leave the country if the controversial Republican were re-elected.

“Last time I almost got a stomach ulcer,” said the 77-year-old. “Who knows what will happen if he comes back to power? This time I will leave the country.” She is currently very worried about the hate speech against trans people, which has increased significantly. “There are around 500 laws that they are trying to pass,” reports Cher, whose son Chaz Bono (54) is a trans man.

She recently spent an evening with Chaz and two trans women: “I said that we have to stick together. I don’t know what they ultimately plan for trans people. I trust them with anything.”

The music icon has publicly shown her dislike of Donald Trump several times. In December 2020 she also told the Guardian: “I hate him.” Trump has poisoned the culture in her native USA. People who previously simply held different opinions are now downright enemies. The Oscar winner said at the time that she hated calling the Republican “president at all.”
