A collection of previously unreleased recordings, handwritten lyrics and personal photos by Amy Winehouse (“Rehab”) will be released in late August – two weeks before the late singer would have turned 40. The book is titled “Amy Winehouse: In Her Words” and will “shed light on her incredible writing talent, wit, charm and zest for life,” according to a Twitter announcement. It will initially appear in English and will cost the equivalent of just over 30 euros.

According to the description of the book, the development of the Grammy winner from growing up to becoming a legend can be recreated. The project should not only please fans, but also serves a good cause: As the music magazine “Rolling Stone” reports, all proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, but at least 70,000 pounds. The foundation works to boost young people’s self-esteem.

The eventful life of the music icon is currently being filmed. Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning in 2011 at the age of 27 after years of struggling with drug and alcohol problems.
