What many had probably hoped for seems to come true in the sequel to “Avatar – Aufbruch nach Pandora”. A new trailer shows spectacular images that suggest that movie buffs can look forward to a real blockbuster with “Avatar: The Way of Water”, which should come into its own in the cinema.
Director James Cameron (68) shows numerous impressive scenes in the approximately 2.5-minute clip, which you can tell that they should be particularly intended for the big screen. The first “Avatar” film was released in late 2009. On December 14th, and thus around 13 years later, the sequel will land in German cinemas.
The sequel also takes place more than a decade after the events of the first “Avatar”. The focus is on the story of the Sully family around Jake (Sam Worthington, 46), Neytiri (Zoe Saldana, 44) and their children. However, the return to the planet Pandora will not be peaceful, as the trailer suggests in stirring images. In addition to Saldana and Worthington, Sigourney Weaver (73), Giovanni Ribisi (47) and Jemaine Clement (48) also play.
Movie buffs are likely to be in for a real spectacle, but they’re in for a long night, too. The industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” recently reported, citing insiders, that “Avatar: The Way of Water” should have a running time of almost three hours and ten minutes.
