In the horror series “The Walking Dead”, Norman Reedus often appears bloodied and heavily armed in his role as a zombie hunter. The US actor presented himself completely differently on Tuesday on Hollywood’s “Walk of Fame”: In a dark suit and tie, Reedus (53) unveiled his new star badge in front of photographers and cheering fans. “I never expected that,” said Reedus, visibly touched. This is really a great honor.

He celebrated the award with his family. The star posed on the star together with his mother, son Mingus (22) and his life partner, the German Hollywood actress Diane Kruger (46).

“I love you so much,” Reedus said in his speech to Kruger (“Inglourious Basterds,” “Out of Nowhere”). He thanked the actress for giving him a “wonderful family”. Reedus and Kruger are parents to three-year-old daughter Nova. Son Mingus comes from the actor’s previous relationship with Danish model Helena Christensen.

Reedus was commemorated with the 2734th plaque on the famous sidewalk in the heart of Hollywood. His “The Walking Dead” colleagues Jon Bernthal and Greg Nicotero were guest speakers. Reedus is one of the nicest, most honest and most humble people ever, Bernthal certified his co-star. Nicotero, who is a special effects artist, producer, actor and director on The Walking Dead, credited Reedus’ “loyal” fans who have kept the series alive for so many years.

Reedus has played zombie hunter Daryl Dixon in the horror series since 2010. He is also known for films like “The Lincoln Supremacy”, “Air” and “Triple 9”. In May he had published his first novel (“The Ravaged”).
