Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently unveiled an innovative scheme aimed at revolutionizing the state’s milk production industry. This groundbreaking initiative, set to be named after the esteemed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, will be officially launched on April 14th to commemorate the 134th birth anniversary of the iconic leader. With a vision to propel Madhya Pradesh from its current third position in milk production, trailing behind Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, Mr. Yadav expressed his determination to elevate the state’s contribution to the national milk production from nine percent to an impressive 20 percent through strategic cattle conservation efforts.

During a press conference in Indore, the Chief Minister emphasized the pivotal role of the new scheme in safeguarding cows, enhancing milk production capacity, and ultimately boosting farmers’ income. “Madhya Pradesh’s contribution to the national milk production is around nine percent. Our government has decided to increase this to 20 percent through cattle conservation. We are launching a new scheme named after Dr. Ambedkar on April 14, on the occasion of his birth anniversary. The aim is to protect cows, increase the milk production capacity and the farmers’ income,” Mr. Yadav articulated passionately.

The press conference served as a platform for Mr. Yadav to unveil his plans after laying the foundation stone for the Indore Municipal Corporation’s ‘Kamdhenu Gaushala’ in Ashapura village near Mhow, the birthplace of B.R. Ambedkar. This expansive cow shelter, spanning 25 hectares and capable of accommodating over 10,000 cows, symbolizes the state’s commitment to cattle welfare and sustainable milk production practices. Furthermore, similar shelters with substantial capacities are being developed in strategic locations across Madhya Pradesh, including prominent cities like Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal, to provide refuge for stray and injured cows.

In a poignant moment, Mr. Yadav condemned derogatory remarks made by former Uttar Pradesh CM and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav regarding the odors emanating from cow shelters. Expressing his disapproval, the Chief Minister asserted, “If any person living in India finds the smell in gaushala bad then they have no right to live in this country.” This statement underscored the deep-seated cultural significance of cows in Indian society and the imperative of revering these animals as sacred beings.

Moreover, Mr. Yadav shed light on the myriad benefits of cow dung, highlighting its potential in cancer treatment and its role in the production of Ayurvedic medicines derived from cow dung and urine. These revelations not only underscored the intrinsic value of cows in Indian culture but also emphasized the untapped potential of bovine resources in various sectors, including healthcare and medicine.

Looking ahead, the State Government is poised to embark on a significant agreement between the M.P. State Cooperative Dairy Federation Ltd., associated milk unions, and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). This pivotal agreement, set to be formalized during Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah’s upcoming visit to Bhopal, signifies a collaborative effort to streamline dairy production processes, foster innovation, and drive economic growth within the state.

As Madhya Pradesh gears up to usher in a new era of dairy production excellence, the unveiling of this visionary scheme named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar marks a pivotal moment in the state’s agricultural landscape. With a steadfast commitment to cattle welfare, sustainable practices, and economic prosperity, the Chief Minister’s bold initiatives are poised to catalyze transformative change and elevate Madhya Pradesh to new heights of agricultural success.
