Jharkhand CM: Naxal Battle Nearing Conclusion
In a solemn ceremony at Tendergram village in Ranchi, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, alongside Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, paid respects to Jawan Sunil Dhan of the Jharkhand Jaguar (JJ) unit. Dhan tragically lost his life in an IED blast orchestrated by Left Wing Extremists (LWE) in the Saranda forest area of the West Singhbhum district. The event unfolded on the fateful day of April 12, 2025, leaving a somber mark on the community.

Addressing the media amid the poignant atmosphere, Chief Minister Soren delivered a message of resolve and determination, stating that the battle against the Naxal insurgents is now in its final stages within the state of Jharkhand. Expressing gratitude for the sacrifices made by numerous jawans during the anti-Naxal operations, Soren emphasized the pivotal role they play in steering the mission towards a successful outcome. “The battle against Naxals is in its last phase. During the anti-naxal operation, we lost several of our jawans. Due to them, we are moving towards a successful operation,” he articulated with conviction.
Governor Gangwar’s Assurance
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar echoed Soren’s sentiments, labeling the incident as unfortunate while assuring the public of the government’s unwavering commitment to minimizing such tragic occurrences. “It was an unfortunate incident. The state government is continuously working to minimize such incidents. The government will take care of the martyred’s family,” Gangwar emphasized, underscoring the administration’s dedication to supporting the families of fallen heroes.

The sequence of events leading to the commemorative ceremony unfolded tragically when Jharkhand Jaguar constable Sunil Dhan and CRPF Jawan Vishnu Saini fell victim to an IED blast in the rugged terrain of West Singhbhum district. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, Sunil Dhan succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ranchi. The condition of Vishnu Saini remains critical, awaiting further updates on his recovery.
