A judicial inquiry into the management of the pandemic of novel coronavirus will be open to the Court of justice of the Republic (CJR) against Édouard Philippe, Olivier Véran and Agnès Buzyn, announced on Friday 3 July 2020 the prosecutor general at the Court of cassation, François Molins. The commission of the requests, composed of senior judges and which acts as a filter, has filed nine complaints against these ex-members of the government. Under the procedure, François Molins is now required to register with the commission statement of the RGC, which will act as a judge of instruction, and will conduct the investigations.
In total, 90 complaints have been received to date by the RGC, only body empowered to try members of the government for the exercise of their function, and 53 of them have been examined. Among them, 34 have been declared inadmissible because they were not directed to a member of the government or because the complainant had no interest in doing so. Ten others, including ex-ministers of Justice Nicole Belloubet, foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian, or even Inside Christophe Castaner, have been discontinued.

“Abstention to fight a sinister”
The nine remaining were joined in view of the referral of the commission of instruction of the head of” abstention to fight a sinister ” against Agnès Buzyn, Édouard Philippe, and Olivier Véran, according to the press release of the attorney general. The first occupied until mid-February, the position of the minister of Health, before leaving to run for mayor of Paris. The last two were part of the government that resigned Friday morning.
