The good mood on the German stock market in the early part of the week faded further towards the weekend. The leading index Dax fell by 0.05 percent to 15,614.42 points in the first few minutes of trading.
The MDax for medium-sized titles fell by 0.25 percent to 27,036.48 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 stagnated at the previous day’s level.
Ahead of a speech by US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell at the Federal Reserve Conference in Jackson Hole (Wyoming), interest rate fears are hampering a further recovery. Attention is also drawn to the announcement of the Ifo business climate index for August, which should give further indications of the state of the German economy.
