On Thursday with many quarterly reports, the Dax lacks momentum. Concerns about parts of the US banking industry put the brakes on. The leading German index fell in early trading, but recently reduced its minus to just 0.15 percent. It was listed at 15,772.51 points. The MDax of medium-sized stocks lost 0.17 percent to 27,418.66 points. The Eurozone’s leading index, the EuroStoxx 50, hardly changed in percentage terms.

In New York, the Dow Jones Industrial index had closed near the daily low the previous evening. Commerzbank therefore highlighted investors’ current risk aversion in the morning. Renewed concerns about the US regional banking sector weighed on stock prices.

Even strong quarterly figures from the technology group Microsoft could not make investors more courageous overall. Only the Nasdaq stock market saw some tailwind. This could continue on Thursday according to good numbers from the social media group Meta.

Quarterly figures are the focus on the German market on Thursday. In the Dax, the supplier RWE convinced the investors, the price increase amounted to 2.7 percent. Deutsche Bank shares hovered around their previous day’s close. For BASF it went down by four percent.

At Deutsche Börse, a takeover bid for the Danish data provider Simcorp overshadowed the stock exchange operator’s strong start to the year. Shares fell 6.3 percent.

In the MDax, the delivery services Hellofresh and Delivery Hero came into focus with their balance sheets, whereupon the prices went in different directions: Delivery Hero down 5.4 percent, Hellofresh up 8.4 percent.
