Mr. Baumgurt, how much climate protection can German industry afford?
A lot, we have no choice! We need the climate-neutral transformation of the economy, if only because we are hitting planetary boundaries when it comes to raw materials and energy. In this respect, for me, climate protection is directly linked to the preservation of our industry and our socio-ecological market economy.
They have been fighting for a circular economy in politics and business for years: products should be as durable as possible, materials should be fully recyclable and reusable. You can also successfully implement the idea in your energy-intensive company. Sounds so reasonable that you ask yourself: why isn’t this already happening everywhere?
