The Villatobas City Council has awarded the works for the zonal rehabilitation of the old landfill and the construction of the ‘Mirador de la Cruz de San Andrés’ in said space, in which the C-101 aircraft donated by the Air Force will be installed.
The works to be carried out, which will begin in a few weeks with an execution period of three months, will consist of placing the C-101 aircraft on a metal structure approximately four meters high and refurbishing and lighting the circular space reserved as viewpoint of the town and the surroundings.
Likewise, a similar action will be carried out on the road that will connect the access to the hill from the base road to the aircraft site, and in a parking area that will be conditioned at the entrance of the new park.
The project involves the rehabilitation of an area characterized by waste and its negative externalities to turn it into a recreation and enjoyment area for the residents. All this according to the project of a sustainable and touristically attractive municipality desired and sought by the Government team.
At the same time, the town’s character as a tourist attraction is reinforced through the installation of the donated plane, “which will leave a mark of the close relationship between the Air Force and Villatobas and will honor the service performed for the defense and growth of Spain” , says a statement from the city council.
