unprovoked-attack-man-stabbed-on-bronx-subway

So, apparently, a dude on the subway in the Bronx got stabbed in the chest, like out of nowhere. Can you even imagine being in that situation? Crazy stuff, man. It went down early in the morning on a southbound 5 train near White Plains Road and East 219th Street. Just a regular day, and then boom, chaos.

The attacker whipped out a knife and started going at it, stabbing the poor victim over and over again. Then, just like that, he bolted. Ran off like a speeding bullet. Last seen at the 225th Street station, decked out in a black vest, blue sweatshirt, gray pants, and colorful sneakers. Fashion statement or what?

Now, here’s the kicker. They actually caught the guy. Lateef Green, a 50-year-old fella, is facing some serious charges – attempted murder and assault. Wild, right? But hey, at least they got him. Silver lining in a dark cloud.

The victim, thankfully, was still with us when the cops showed up. Conscious and alert, they rushed him to Jacobi Hospital. Tough cookie, that one. Sounds like he’s gonna make it out okay. Thank goodness for small miracles.

Oh, and get this – overall transit crime is down this year. Like, way down. Over 14 percent drop from last year. That’s something to celebrate, right? Makes you feel a bit safer on those subway rides, I guess.
