The president was all like, “Yo, let’s stop this bloodbath” in a post on social media. Trump was feeling optimistic about peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, saying he’s gonna keep working with both sides to end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He was like, “It’s gonna be a whole new, better world once this never-ending bloodbath is over. Think about all the lives we’ll save!”
Trump’s been trying to make peace happen since he got back in the Oval Office, but so far, it’s been a no-go. The fighting and bombing are still going strong. Ukrainian soldiers were training in the Donetsk Region, but even that didn’t stop the violence.
The president has been getting frustrated with Zelenskyy and Putin for not making peace happen. Putin tried to have a three-day ceasefire for Victory Day, but Ukraine wasn’t having it. They said Russia kept on attacking during the ceasefire. Zelenskyy was like, “Let’s do a 30-day ceasefire,” and after talking with other leaders, they agreed to start it on May 12.
Putin wasn’t feeling the 30-day ceasefire idea, but he did say he was down for some talks in Istanbul. Zelenskyy was like, “Cool, let’s talk.” He thought it was a good sign, and he’s ready for a ceasefire to start on May 12.
So, like, peace talks are happening, but there’s still a lot of fighting going on. Not really sure why this matters, but it seems like both sides are kinda trying to make things work. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like they should’ve figured this out a long time ago.
