The French hotel group Accor confidently announces its latest project. Together with the shipping company Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the hoteliers want to build a new mega yacht, or more precisely: the largest sailing yacht in the world. The noble ship is also to be named after another prestigious means of transport from Accor and will soon set sail as the “Orient Express Silenseas”.

So far, the “Orient Express Silenseas” can only be seen on renderings, but the targeted key data speak for themselves. It is said to be more than 220 meters long – around 80 meters more than the previous record holder, the “Sailing Yacht A” owned by oligarch Andrei Melnitschenko. The largest mast of the yacht reaches a proud 100 meters.

The equipment on board is also extensive: so that the renter of the yacht does not have to get bored, there is enough space on the ship for friends and acquaintances. A total of 54 suites are to be accommodated on the yacht, including a presidential suite with 1415 square meters of space and a terrace of more than 500 square meters.

Of course, well-heeled guests don’t want to have to swim in the sea either: cold water, high waves, wild animals – the crème de la crème don’t feel like it. It’s good that the “Orient Express Silenseas” has two extra pools on board. Two restaurants and a bar complete the facilities.

Incidentally, despite the gigantic sail masts, the yacht will not sail the world’s oceans solely on wind power. In addition, an engine is available that will initially be operated with LNG. It will later be converted to green hydrogen.
