Singer and actress Louise Forestier, journalist and author Michel Jean and singer-songwriter Michel Rivard will become members of the Ordre des arts et des lettres du Québec before the end of spring.
The Council of Arts and Letters of Quebec announced Wednesday the identity of the personalities who appear in this cohort, which includes a dozen new members.
Among them are the co-founder of the Cité des arts du cirque Jan Rok Achard, the publisher Gaston Bellemare, the composer and saxophonist Walter Boudreau and the puppeteer André Laliberté. Without forgetting Mohamed Lamine Touré (music), Eudore Belzile (theater), Tivi Etok (visual arts), Dulcinée Langfelder (multidisciplinary arts) and Monique Savoie (digital arts).
They will receive the title of Compagne or Compagnon des arts et des lettres du Québec, a distinction that highlights the contribution of artisans in the cultural milieu to the development of arts and letters in Quebec, here and abroad.
The ceremony and presentation of badges will take place on June 6 at the Studio-Théâtre des Grands Ballets, in the Quartier des Spectacles, in Montreal.
