The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published the announcement for the tender for the construction of the Leal Medicine Institute of Toledo, with an investment of 5 million euros. As stated in the BOE, the deadline for receiving bids or requests to participate will remain open until 7:00 p.m. on June 21, while the expected date for the opening of the tenders is July 6.

The building will be built on a plot of land on Danmark Street ceded by the City Council for 75 years.

The land has an area of 2,150 square meters, in addition to allowing unlimited buildability and 100 percent floor occupancy.

One of the objectives of these new facilities is to provide the Justice Administration bodies with the material means and infrastructures necessary for an agile and efficient operation, improving transparency, rapprochement and attention to citizens.

As stated in the project, the building will consist of different work areas, such as the forensic pathology service, the medical-forensic clinic, common services and administration. The property will consist of two floors and a basement.

For its construction, the use of ecological materials is proposed, incorporating a high content of recycled material, and biodegradable, as well as products of local origin and manufacture, all to reduce the ecological footprint of the building to a minimum.

In addition, it is committed to sustainability by reducing the consumption of drinking water with toilets that incorporate systems to fulfill this purpose, such as cisterns with a reduced discharge option or timed taps with aerators, while the vegetation introduced in the urbanization will be species native with reduced irrigation needs
