The sky is gray and a cold wind is blowing. With tears in their eyes, students stand in front of the schoolyard of the Löwenrot School in St. Leon-Rot on Friday afternoon, some accompanied by their parents. A red and white barrier blocks the way, the slatted blinds on the building’s windows are drawn, and there is a police car on the opposite side of the street. Flowers lie on the floor in front of the barrier, candles are burning, and there are more and more of them.
