If the Gaisburger Marsch were a man, he would be a macho who lays it on too big – and still wants to be cherished. The hearty beef stew needs a lot of time and attention to make it a success. Potatoes aren’t enough for him, they also have to be freshly shaved spaetzle.

According to legend, the classic from Swabia was highly valued by the officer candidates in Stuttgart. As has been handed down, they marched to a restaurant in the Gaisburg district, where it was served. Hence his name.
