A discounter fire in Kahla caused high property damage in the six-digit range. The rear area was on fire early Sunday morning, police said on Sunday. Accordingly, firefighters had to open parts of the roof to fight the fire. In total, it took more than two hours to extinguish the fire, as embers flared up again and again. The resulting property damage cannot be quantified by the police at the moment, but is estimated in the six-digit range. Nobody was injured by the fire. A fire investigator will visit the scene of the accident in the coming days.
