Mark Emilien Morin, a beloved member of the Poland, Maine community, passed away on June 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 50. Born on June 30, 1973, in Lewiston, Maine, Mark was the youngest of four siblings and grew up in New Auburn. He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1991 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston in 1995.

Throughout his career, Mark excelled in the field of engineering, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with at Hannaford, Atlantic Engineering, and Nason Mechanical Systems in Auburn, ME. His passion for engineering extended beyond the workplace, as he was known for his ability to fix and build just about anything. Whether he was enjoying the outdoors at Richardson Lake, hitting the snowmobile trails, or working on his vintage motorbikes and snowmobiles in the garage, Mark always found joy in the simple things in life.

Mark is survived by his life partner, Brooke Grygiel, his daughter Meghan Picard and son-in-law Eric, his mother Diane Morin, his siblings Celeste Chapman, Andre Morin, and John Morin, as well as his nieces, nephews, and close friend Brian Roy. He was predeceased by his father, Emilien E. Morin, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on June 21, 2024, at Fortin Funeral Home in Auburn, ME, to celebrate Mark’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or the Andover Snow Valley Snow-Goers in Mark’s memory.

Mark Morin will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his kind and generous spirit, his love for the outdoors, and his devotion to his family and community. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, determination, and a passion for living life to the fullest.
