After the attack in a Duisburg gym with four serious injuries, the police are using a public search to find the alleged perpetrator. Investigators released photos from a surveillance camera around the studio on Friday. According to the police, several witnesses independently identified the man seen in the photos as a suspect.

A person can be seen walking away from the crime scene. The man is said to be around 25 to 35 years old. He wore a full black beard, a black jacket, blue jeans and black shoes with white soles. He had a baseball cap on his head and a dark backpack on his back.

The police warn against addressing the suspect directly. Witnesses should dial 911. Prosecutors have offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator.

The man had seriously injured four people in the attack on Tuesday evening with a slashing and stabbing weapon. According to the police spokesman on Friday, the 21-year-old, against whom the attack was “targeted” according to the current status of the investigation, is still in mortal danger. The other three victims, aged 24, 24 and 32, who, according to the investigation, were not the direct target of the attack, are out of danger. One of the injured was able to leave the hospital in the meantime.
