A big ol’ wildfire in Ocean County, New Jersey, got folks evacuating and roads shutting down, officials reckon.
Fire folks first chimed in on social media about the fire in Barnegat Township around 12:22 p.m. on Tuesday.
As of 5 p.m., the “Jones Wildfire” done burned up 1200 acres, got 16 structures all shook up along Bryant Road and Wells Mills Road (Rt. 532), made folks skedaddle on Wells Mills Road from Bryant Road to the Garden State Parkway in Ocean Township and done shut down these here roads:

• Garden State Parkway ’round Exit 69, Waretown, goin’ both ways
• Rt. 532 (Wells Mills Road) ‘tween Rt. 72 and the Garden State Parkway
• Bryant Road ‘tween Wells Mills Road (Rt. 532) and Rt. 539
• Jones Road ‘tween Rt. 532 and Bryant Road
A whole bunch of firefighters been sent out to tackle the blaze. They got forest fire engines, bulldozers, ground crews, a helicopter that can drop 300 gallons of water, another one for keepin’ an eye out, and a contact air tanker that can drop 600 gallons of water.
