Two male teenagers aged 13 and 14 crashed into several parked cars in Herne and were seriously injured. They were taken to the hospital but had non-life-threatening injuries, police said on Tuesday. Witnesses heard a loud bang around 3:44 a.m. on Tuesday night and called the police.

According to previous findings, the young people drove off the road at too high a speed and crashed into a parking area. Due to the force of the impact, the accident vehicle was pushed under a parked car. Two other parked cars were damaged. It was initially unclear who was driving the car. The police have started the investigation. According to initial findings, the accident was preceded by a break-in at a car workshop, it was said. The young people are now suspected of having stolen the car involved in the accident.
