Whether new benches, guide strips for the visually impaired, illuminated staircases or railings – Deutsche Bahn wants to improve accessibility for travelers. Around 1.9 million euros will be invested in around 50 train stations in Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia, as the company announced on Monday. A new family waiting room is being created at Leipzig Central Station. Among other things, the handrails at Köthen station and the staircases at Merseburg main station are being renewed. Gera Central Station will have a waiting room on platforms 3 and 4. In Pirna, among other things, an underpass is being redesigned.
