Even those who don’t like cooking can hardly avoid some kitchen appliances. Let’s take the kettle, the coffee machine or the good old mixer. Then there are the parts that make life a little bit more worth living every day: microwave, milk frother, waffle iron or sandwich maker – just to name a few. And then there are the gadgets from the “No one needs it, but it’s still really cool” category. The hot air fryer also belongs in this drawer, also called Airfryer by the connoisseurs among the fries fans. In contrast to an ordinary deep fryer, one to two tablespoons of olive or sunflower oil are usually sufficient with the Airfryer to make fish, meat, fries or fresh vegetables crispy. Basically, an air fryer only circulates air, which is heated to a preset temperature by a ring heater.

Crispy fries are of course one of the most popular “dishes” made in hot air fryers. And made from potatoes you have peeled and cut yourself, they not only taste way tastier than the fries from the snack truck around the corner. They are also much healthier. You also save time and energy because the Airfryer does not have to be preheated, unlike a conventional fryer. A current hot air fryer test 2021 can be found here.

Even if only a spoonful of oil ends up in the frying basket or in the pan, the hot air fryer must be cleaned of fat and leftover food at the latest after the feast. All you need is hot water, a drop of washing-up liquid and the soft side of a sponge. A brush helps with stubborn food residues. Important: Allow the containers to cool for about 30 minutes before cleaning.
