So, uh, some IDF investigation found that Israeli tank fire messed up a UN building in central Gaza back in March. One UN worker got dead and five others got hurt in all the chaos. Apparently, this happened right after the ceasefire went down the drain, according to the IDF. Not really sure why this matters, but there you have it.
Oh, and get this – the Israeli army is still out there doing tank stuff while some soldiers are doing their Talmudic rituals at the Gaza border. Real interesting mix there, huh? Anadolu via Getty ImagesUN guy named Marin Marinov got killed in the strike. Then there’s Neil Arnold, Joel Fournet, Nicolas Berthon, Alexandru Baban, and David Petrov who got injured. The IDF was all like, “Nah, we didn’t hit no UN building,” but then they turned around and said sorry for the whole mess. Go figure.
The UN is doing their own digging to figure out what really went down during the strike. And, get this, the UNOPS executive director is all about making sure someone takes responsibility for the whole international law thing. They want to hold someone accountable for the UN worker’s death. As for the Israeli government, they’ve been holding back on sending any goods, food, or medical supplies to Gaza for over two months now. Apparently, they’re waiting for Hamas to release hostages before they’ll send any help. Real nice, huh?
So, yeah, 280 UN workers have died in Gaza since Hamas started causing trouble back in 2023. The IDF has admitted to messing up a few times, like when they shot at those medical vehicles, but who knows if anyone will actually face consequences for the UN building strike. Just another day in the chaotic world of international conflict, I guess.
