The Civil Traffic Guard proceeded to investigate a driver after driving in the opposite direction for 64 kilometers on the Castilla highway, A-62, between the provinces of Salamanca and Valladolid, in addition to testing positive for alcohol and also verifying that his driver’s license was invalid, since he had lost the points and had not taken the re-education course.
The events occurred on June 10, when several calls notified the 112 emergency telephone number that a Volkswagen Passat vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction at kilometer point 225 of the A-62, in the direction of Burgos along the road direction Portugal, in the province of Salamanca.
After the notice, a location device was set up for said vehicle with patrols from the Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard of Valladolid, since according to the latest information 112 was already near the border with the province of Valladolid.
The vehicle was located and intercepted by a patrol from the Tordesillas Civil Guard Traffic Detachment at kilometer 161 of the A-62 towards Burgos, in the municipality of Pollos (Valladolid).
After undergoing the breathalyzer test, he gave a positive result of 0.90 milligrams per liter of expired air in the first and second tests.
The Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard of Valladolid team proceeded to investigate said driver for the alleged commission of a crime of reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages and for loss of validity of the Driving License since he had run out of points and had not taken the road awareness and re-education course.
The corresponding proceedings have been sent to the Court of Instruction of Valladolid.
