The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston recently celebrated its 25th-year anniversary at a gala event in Houston. The event, held at the Hilton Americas, was attended by over 700 guests who gathered to commemorate the organization’s impact on the local Indo-American business community.
During the event, Congressman Al Green and Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis recognized Nick Dhanani and Wallis Bank for their significant contributions to the gala. Additionally, IACC India Secretary General Kamal Vora, who was visiting from India, was honored for being a long-time friend and partner of the organization in India.
The event featured speeches from notable figures such as John Whitmire, the Mayor of Houston, and D.C. Manjunath, the Consul General of India in Houston. A special panel discussion, moderated by the Chamber’s past president Sanjay Ramabhadran, highlighted the key accomplishments of the Chamber over the past 25 years. Panelists included Dr. Durga Agrawal, an IACCGH advisor; Paul Hamilton, former President of Shell USA; and Dr. Renu Khator, Chancellor of the University of Houston System, among others.
The Executive Director of the Chamber, Jagdip Ahluwalia, wrapped up the event with a speech expressing gratitude to sponsors, community partners, and members for their unwavering support over the past 25 years. He also expressed optimism for the future, looking forward to another 25 successful years for the Chamber.
In addition to celebrating the Chamber’s milestone anniversary, the event provided a platform for networking and fostering relationships within the Indo-American business community. It served as a reminder of the Chamber’s commitment to promoting trade, commerce, and investment between India and the United States.
The IACCGH has been instrumental in bridging the gap between businesses in India and Houston, facilitating partnerships and collaborations that have contributed to the economic growth of both regions.
