Housing crisis: The housing shortage in Germany is getting worse. How buyers can still fulfill their dream of owning their own home

In the last few months one dream after the other has burst. That’s what you find out when you talk to people who want to build a house. They had to cancel their plans, return land, find their way around their rented apartment. But the numbers also show the shattered dreams: from March to December 2022, the number of new real estate loans fell by almost two thirds.
