harvard-universitys-nternational-student-enrollment-blocked-by-trump-administration

The Trump administration done did it again, folks. They went and stopped Harvard from enrolling international students. Yeah, you heard me right. Harvard, that fancy Ivy League school, is in some deep trouble with the government. Basically, the Trump Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism gave Harvard a bunch of demands to follow, like changing who they let in and subjecting their faculty to some government audit. Harvard said, “Nah, not gonna do it,” and the government was like, “Fine, we’ll take away over $2 billion in research funding.” Ouch.

So, Harvard got mad and sued the government to get their money back. But that’s not even the worst part. The government went ahead and stopped Harvard from enrolling any more international students through the Student and Exchange Visitor Program. That’s a big deal because Harvard has a ton of international students – almost 6,800 out of a total of 24,596 students. Now all those international students have to find somewhere else to go or risk losing their legal status. Talk about a mess.

The Department of Homeland Security said they did all this because they wanted info about any criminal or bad stuff that international students might have done. Harvard gave them some info back in April, but apparently, it wasn’t good enough. So now, the government is demanding all kinds of records and audio and video files showing any dangerous or illegal activity by international students in the past five years. They even want footage of protest activity involving international students on Harvard’s campus. It’s like they’re on a witch hunt or something. Harvard is not happy about any of this, calling the government’s actions “unlawful.” But will they be able to do anything about it? Only time will tell.
