The handball team at BSV Sachsen Zwickau celebrated their first win of the season. Coach Norm Rentsch’s protégés got the upper hand on Saturday in front of their home crowd against TSV Bayer Leverkusen with 39:32 (19:16). Anna Frankova (10), Ema Hrvatin (10/2) and Diana Magnusdottir (9) had the greatest share in the first success in the fifth league game. Fem Boeters (9), Mareike Thomeier (5/1) and Naina Klein (4) scored the most goals for Leverkusen.
After a balanced start (5:5/10th minute), the hosts took the initiative and pulled away with three goals in a row to 8:5 (16th). They extended the lead from 17:12 (28th) to 30:23 by the 48th minute. BSV excelled in attack in particular, achieved an outstanding shooting rate of more than 80 percent and thus laid the foundation for the surprisingly clear triumph.
