Sad certainty in the case of Yolanda K, who has been missing since 2019. As the Leipzig public prosecutor announced on Thursday, bones were discovered by a passer-by in a forest area in Saxony-Anhalt. A forensic examination of the bones revealed that they were human bones and that they came from the missing Yolanda K.
According to the public prosecutor, there are currently no indications of third-party negligence. The investigations continued.
The then 23-year-old student had been missing since September 25, 2019. K. wanted to go to a furniture store at the time, but didn’t come back. Friends informed the police that same evening. There was a search operation by police and volunteers. The investigators initially assumed an accident because, according to her father and the police, the 23-year-old was repeatedly plagued by “recurring, unpredictable fainting spells”.
