The weather is uncomfortable – and sometimes dangerous. Towards the end of the week, traffic accidents occurred in freezing drizzle and black ice in many places in Germany. On Friday there were still official warnings of “marked slippery conditions” due to freezing rain in several regions. The sun is disappearing more and more and there is a risk of slippery roads, wrote the portal “Wetter.de”.
According to the current weather reports, it was particularly slippery in parts of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Saxony and Brandenburg as well as in Berlin and in some places in Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Bavaria.
There is frost in many parts of Germany, and in some places temperatures fluctuate around freezing point. At the same time, our latitudes are more influenced by low pressure: the air becomes more humid. The perceived temperatures – the perceived ambient temperatures – are sometimes below the measured air temperatures, as the overview in Map II below shows.
