The crazy incident went down on a sunny Sunday morning when a tour bus rammed into a disabled SUV on a freeway in Los Angeles County. According to the authorities, one person sadly lost their life in the fiery collision, and 32 others ended up getting injured.

The whole mess happened a little after 5 a.m. Pacific Time on State Route 60 near Hacienda Heights, which is this little place in Los Angeles County. Officer Zachary Salazar, who speaks for the California Highway Patrol, spilled the beans on the whole situation.

So get this, the tour bus was jam-packed with 63 people when it crashed into a busted Nissan Pathfinder that was chilling in the westbound lanes, the CHP spilled. The Nissan caught fire because of the crash, which is just awful.

The poor driver of the Nissan, whose name they didn’t release right away, got trapped in the burning car and died on the spot, the CHP said. The bus didn’t catch fire, but 32 out of the 63 passengers on board got sent to the hospital for their injuries, according to Salazar.

The driver of the tour bus, who they named Sui Sheng Du, apparently plowed right into the back of the disabled SUV, as per the CHP’s initial investigation. “The Nissan Pathfinder went up in flames because of the crash, trapping the person inside,” the CHP statement read.

After the crash, the bus swerved to the right and hit a raised metal and wood guardrail on the right shoulder of the freeway, the CHP mentioned. The Los Angeles County Fire Department said two people on the bus were in bad shape, and the rest had minor to moderate injuries.

Salazar mentioned that the bus was on its way to Koreatown in downtown LA when all this madness happened. Apparently, it was coming from Morongo Valley, which is like 110 miles east of LA.

There are some pics of the bus taken by ABC Los Angeles station KABC, and let me tell you, that thing looked beat up. No clue what caused the SUV to break down, Salazar said. Oh, and the CHP said alcohol and drugs weren’t involved in the crash, in case you were wondering.

The whole situation was pretty intense, with a lot of people getting hurt and one person tragically losing their life. It’s a reminder to always be careful on the roads and watch out for any disabled vehicles, you never know what could happen.

So yeah, that’s the scoop on the crazy tour bus crash near LA. Stay safe out there, folks.
