The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who visited Villarrobledo this Thursday, has said that it is possible to reach agreements with the PSOE at the national level, but not so with its leader, the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez. Feijóo, accompanied by the president of the PP of Castilla-La Mancha, Paco Núñez, added that “for the moment, Pedro Sánchez prefers not to reach agreements with the PP and yes with the Basque and Catalan independence movement.”

«It is a chronicle of what has been the last four years of President Sánchez in the Government. This has always been the case, whenever an agreement can be reached, he prefers to agree with those to whom he owes the Presidency than with those who represent the majority of Spaniards », he added.

Along these lines, he pointed out that “it would be good” for the current leader of the PSOE in Castilla-La Mancha and regional president, Emiliano García-Page, to influence “a little more” in his party. “That would be good for the PSOE and for Spain, but Sánchez’s party wins the PSOE by far.”

For his part, Paco Núñez has insisted that “it is no coincidence” that Feijóo’s first visit to the region as president of the PP is aimed at knowing “first-hand” the evolution of the agri-food industry because the party believes in this sector for the economic and social evolution of Castilla-La Mancha.

He added that the two absolutely “fundamental” measures to help the business sector, the self-employed, farmers and ranchers, as well as to strengthen employment, economic growth and family consumption, are a “clear bureaucratic simplification and a real and effective tax cut.

This was stated by Núñez during his visit, together with Feijóo, to the Cooperativa Vinícola Bodegas Don Octavio, the dairy company Grupo Lactalis and the Villarrobledo City Council, where he warned that “we are living through a complex moment, with a Government that does not deal of the real problems of the Spaniards, since the Executive dedicates itself to spreading smoke screens so as not to talk about what really matters to the Spaniards».

In this sense, he has stressed that the Government “does not want to talk” about the situation of cooperatives, the evolution of work in the field, why a farmer works at a loss or why he has problems exporting the agri-food industry . “And, in the face of this, the PP has a clear, firm and determined commitment that goes through the strengthening of the business fabric, the self-employed, farmers and ranchers, as well as the evolution and growth of the agri-food industry ».

Thus, he highlighted the “ambitious” proposal presented by Núñez Feijóo, which would mean a reduction of taxes by 10,000 million euros, lowering taxes such as that of Companies, personal income tax or VAT, in addition to reducing the bureaucratic burden and encouraging companies with European Funds, and about which Sánchez “did not want to know anything.”

He has also criticized the fact that the PSOE’s attitude in the face of a large proposal for lower taxes and economic incentives is “to spread smoke screens, try to generate scandals and avoid talking about what really worries the Spanish, which is paying less taxes, maintaining jobs and be more competitive and more productive to help the country grow. Some measures that, as he has recalled, already work in the autonomous communities governed by the PP, which, by lowering taxes, generate more wealth than the nine regions governed by the PSOE together. In this sense, he has assured that in Castilla-La Mancha “we pay for this twice”, since, although it may seem that Page has a different discourse than Sánchez, “he was the first president of the country who governed with Podemos, refusing to agree on a budget with the PP in 2017 to prevent the entry of Podemos into the Government, rejecting it because it was more comfortable with the formation of Pablo Iglesias ».
