On the evening of October 19, 2024, Saratoga was filled with the enchanting sounds of music and the warmth of heartfelt conversations as Enabling Leadership hosted its annual fundraiser, “Autumn Acoustics”. This event was dedicated to empowering underserved children with leadership skills through their innovative programs such as EL Play (soccer), EL Create (Music), and EL Build (Lego).

The fundraiser featured captivating acoustic performances by renowned musicians and engaging storytelling sessions that brought together a community dedicated to making a positive impact. Attendees were treated to performances like “College Days”, a touching Beatles tribute by Sanjay Subramanian and Chandran Sankaran, as well as the soulful harmonies of “Melodious Thunk”, a band known for reimagining classic rock and folk covers.

In the midst of musical performances, Ravi Sonnad, the CEO and founder of Enabling Leadership, shared a moving story titled “Defying the Impossible”. This narrative shed light on the profound impact the organization has had on over 10,000 underserved students, emphasizing the importance of providing essential life skills to break the cycle of poverty.

Ravi Sonnad, currently visiting the United States of America, founded Enabling Leadership with a vision to equip underprivileged children in government or low-income schools with crucial leadership skills. He highlighted the stark reality that over 800 million children facing socio-economic challenges lack fundamental skills like problem-solving and communication, which perpetuates the cycle of poverty. Enabling Leadership’s unique approach of using music, football, and Lego to empower 9-15-year-olds from underprivileged backgrounds has reached 10,000 children in 125 low-income schools across India, Singapore, Cambodia, and Kenya.

Apart from the Autumn Acoustics fundraiser, Enabling Leadership has actively participated in events like the Sevathon 2024 marathon and the Microsoft Give events in the Bay region to raise funds for their cause. These initiatives underscore the organization’s unwavering commitment to transforming the lives of children by integrating education with play, music, and building activities.

The funds generated from these events will directly contribute to expanding Enabling Leadership’s reach, ensuring that more children from underserved communities can benefit from their life-changing programs.
