More than 55,500 students in Rhineland-Palatinate have already applied for the 200 euro energy price flat rate. A spokesman for the Ministry of Science in Mainz announced that 55,283 applications had already been approved.

For a week now, students and technical students have been able to apply for the energy price flat rate online at “Einmalzahlen200.de”. In Rhineland-Palatinate, around 117,000 people are currently eligible. The money is intended to relieve them of the sharp rise in energy prices.

The traffic light coalition had agreed on the nationwide special payment in September 2022. The implementation was initially difficult because, among other things, the account details of all those affected were not available centrally. According to the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economic Affairs, the money will now be transferred quickly within five days of approval.
