Four days after her appointment to Matignon and a few hours after the presentation of her government, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne was invited to the 8 p.m. newspaper on TF1. The opportunity to present its objectives and respond to the first criticisms.
A “parity and balanced” government
The Prime Minister first defended the composition of her government, believing that it was “equal and balanced between those who were already ministers and new figures who are competent and committed”. “There are personalities who come from the left, from the right and from the center, others who had no political activity. But these are all people who share the desire to implement the program for which Emmanuel Macron was re-elected, “she explained, before discussing her projects.

“I will be as I am. There are things that are close to my heart, in particular the fact that public policies are built through dialogue and that the government is a collective that I will be keen to lead,” she said, adding that she “was very in tune with Jean Castex on a lot of subjects”.
Its first measurement will concern the purchasing power
“The first bill examined will relate to purchasing power”, announced the Prime Minister, adding that “the concerns of the French people” on this subject had “been well heard”. “We are working on a food check which will be part of this bill, but also on tariff shield measures, and the reduction in fuel prices will be extended. There are also measures that were expected, such as the revaluation of pensions and the tripling of the Macron bonus, ”she listed.
The former Minister of Labor then mentioned the environment, she who is also responsible for ecological planning. “The ecological transition must be declined, implemented in all the public policies that we carry out”, she explained, before quoting a first “important” measure: “It is to allow all French people to be able to access electric vehicles with long-term rentals at less than 100 euros per month. »
Critics against Pap Ndiaye “caricatural”
Elisabeth Borne also took advantage of her airtime to defend her new Minister of Education and Youth, at the heart of all the criticism coming mainly from the right. “The attacks on Pap Ndiaye are completely caricatural, which does not surprise me from the people you mentioned”, underlined the Prime Minister on TF1, in reference to Marine Le Pen and Éric Zemmour who reacted to the appointment of Pap Ndiaye.
“The appointment of Pap Ndiaye, an assumed indigenist, to National Education is the last stone in the deconstruction of our country, its values and its future”, estimated the MP for Pas-de-Calais on Twitter. “Emmanuel Macron said that we had to deconstruct the history of France. Pap Ndiaye will take care of it, ”said the president of Reconquête!.
“Pap Ndiaye is a very committed Republican, someone who believes in the values of the Republic and that is obviously what he will carry as Minister of National Education”, assured Élisabeth Borne.
