An 18-year-old is said to have kidnapped another woman’s baby from a clinic in Hamburg-Heimfeld. Two hours later she returned to the hospital with the unharmed baby and was arrested, police said that night.
According to police, the 18-year-old was in a psychological state of emergency at the time of the crime.
The 18-year-old is said to have previously lured the child’s mother away from the baby by presenting false facts. It remained unclear whether the alleged perpetrator and the mother knew each other and how the teenager gained access to the hospital. The police started an investigation on suspicion of child abduction.
