RB coach Marco Rose is worried about Leipzig’s top striker Christopher Nkunku (25) after the 2-1 defeat in the top game of the Bundesliga at Borussia Dortmund. He fears that Nkunku has “lost a few days again,” “it looks like,” said Rose after the game on Friday evening on the DAZN streaming service. “He noticed something in the muscle during a sprint.” Nkunku, who has recovered from a torn lateral ligament, was back in the starting XI against BVB for the first time in 111 days. “In the end, I think I should have done better and taken him out sooner,” Rose noted self-critically.
The coach was less concerned in the case of Xaver Schlager (25), who had to leave the field in the 85th minute after a duel with BVB striker Anthony Modeste and was treated. “Xaver twisted his ankle, it wasn’t good at first, now it’s getting better,” said the RB coach.
